Terms of use
Last updated October 22, 2026
These terms apply when you use TellYourCase. By sending your first message or creating an account you agree to them.
What TellYourCase is, and isn't
TellYourCase organizes the story and documents you provide into a timeline, a list of people, open questions and a brief, each statement linked to where it came from. It is software, not a law firm. It does not give legal advice, does not evaluate how strong your case is or predict outcomes, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. For advice about your situation, talk to a lawyer or a legal aid organization.
Your account
- You can try TellYourCase without an account; guest cases are deleted after 24 hours unless you sign up.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian use TellYourCase with you.
Your content
- You keep ownership of what you write and upload. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the service for you.
- Proposals from the software are suggestions until you confirm them. You are responsible for checking the facts in your case and in any brief you share.
- Upload only material you have the right to use. Don't upload anything illegal; we remove it and report it where the law requires.
Content rules
- Don't upload sexual content involving minors, content that threatens or harasses someone, or anything else that is illegal to hold or share.
- When we learn of illegal content, we remove it from the case at once and keep a copy only as long as the law requires us to, for reporting. Child sexual abuse material is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, as US law requires.
- If you or someone else is in danger, call 911. The app also shows crisis lines under "Get help now".
Credits and payments
- New accounts get free credits once. Paid credits are sold in packs through Stripe and never expire.
- Prices are listed on our home page. Text is charged when it’s organized and files when they’re read, at those prices; voice notes and the brief show their price before you start. Credits are held while the work runs and only what was used is charged; if a run fails, nothing is charged and retrying is free.
- You can ask for a refund of unused credits within 14 days of buying them by writing to support@tellyourcase.com.
Acceptable use
Don't use TellYourCase to harass anyone, to break the law, to overload or probe the service, or to get around its limits. We may limit or close accounts that do.
Availability and changes
We work to keep TellYourCase available and your data safe, but the service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before a claim. We may update these terms; we will tell you about important changes before they apply.
Ending
You can export your data and delete a case or your whole account at any time from the app. Deleted data is removed as described in the privacy policy.
